If you'd like to be able to know if your phone will most likely be okay drops off the table, counter, couch or out of your pocket, this is probably a good choice. The front is not protected but if falls on a fairly flat surface the raised rubberize edges take the brunt of the impact. All other sides are fairly well protected.
