One woman gave advice about the staircase which was very helpful to me: When installing the THIRD floor, attach the “wall” to the floor FIRST, then set the whole thing in place onto the building, MAKING SURE THE TOP FLAP of your STAIRCASE is on TOP of the FLOOR. It doesn’t specify that, but that reviewer saved me a headache. That is what stabilizes the staircase. ELEVATOR: Many complaints that it is not smooth, hard to move, and the round handle breaks off because of the force required. I read those beforehand and mine was the same. I took a piece of sand paper and sanded the inside edges of the plastic track a little bit (not too much, or it will fall out of the track) Then I rubbed just a very little bit of Vaseline inside the track, and worked the whole thing back and forth several times- this helped A LOT! We ordered a 4.5 inch handmade doll from Etsy, Wildflower Toys and it is PEEFECT! Our 6 year old granddaughter is loving it and has spent hours playing with everything. The elevator doesn't work as well as I'd hoped but it does function. I imagine it will be the only thing that breaks on this dollhouse. It is very sturdy and once put together is fantastic. My 2.5 year old loves it! It does take quite a while to put together and I'm very handy. There is a screw & step missing for the top railing in the bedroom. Not the end of the world, I used my own screws to make it stay in place. Overall I'm very happy with this product. Especially the thickness of the walls and floors. Definitely worth the money.
