I bought the slide back sliding door closer about a year ago and installed it (very easily I might add) and was SOOOO psyched out of my mind that it actually worked the way it was supposed to! I love it and as many testimonials have noted - it has saved my kids from the wrath of dad for leaving the sliding doors open constantly and letting all the A/C out in 100 degree weather. Now, the icing on the cake... my wife broke the screw off in the bracket that holds the little arm that connects to the closer by torqueing it crazy hard and snap (the icing is coming...). So, I did that and then I thought, ya know, it'll probably never come. Well, again, much to my amazement, it came in the mail within about 3 days! I have since replaced the broken part, installed the new, the sliding doors are closing now with the help of the beautiful door closer and I, the wife and the kids are all at peace with each other once again. If you only open the door 1 foot or 1.5 feet (not enough for a person to walk through) it will close, but any wider and it does not close automatically. I wish I had bought it years ago. I have a bunch of children. They leave the doors open all the time and late summer the flies are miserable in the house bc the doors are left open all the time. Not any more! We did need to clean the track and adjust things first but after a little trial and error it works beautifully. My husband said the paper instructions were terrible but the videos helped.
