This was my sons favourite book as a child and I buy it as a newborn gift for every baby that arrives into our family. Such a lovely book.

A Winner for a Two Year Old!
I first read this delightful book to my grandsons (aged 4 and 22 months) on Readeo.com. (We live thousands of kilometres apart.) Both listened attentively, but the nearly-two year-old LOVED it, and asked me to read it again and again. I ended up ordering it for his second birthday, via Amazon.co.uk, and it's still a 'hot favourite' six months later. The illustrations are appealing, especially for this little boy who adores animals and lives next door to a shady wood. The story-line is obviously appropriate - judging from his response; sorry to disagree with the few negative reviews. Most parents would use the story to remind their children not to wander off on their own -and the author quickly ensures a great 'feel good' ending so any anxiety quickly evaporates. Definitely recommended.

a beautiful book
Yes, the plot is far from mind-blowing but it's fine for a bed-time read and the illustrations are just beautiful. My son (age 4) and I always spend time poring over the inside cover pages every time we read it as the drawings of woodland insects and plants are just beautiful. It's a book I'll be keeping in my memory box.

There are better books with this theme
I have tried on several occasions to read this to my daughter but she is not interested in this book. The "baby wanders off and is later reunited with mummy" theme is common in young children's books and maybe it's the text, but also I believe the illustrations, are done better in other books.

Wonderful Easter surprise
My son was delighted that the Easter bunny brought him this adorable book that he enjoyed at preschool - a simple story with cute pix about a baby bunny getting lost & mum finding him - I think it is reassuring for the separation anxiety kids experience at this age

Sweet
Very good for reading out to 3 year olds. And also for kids learning to read, to try and read by themselves.

Family classic
This was one of my favorite cooks books to read to my girls when they were little. It got destroyed at some point as they got older. When I got pregnant again with a girl I made bunnies her theme. Then we lost her....I just rebought this book to read to my sons and my rainbow baby and the theme hits me right in the feels as an angel momma. I can't wait to add it to our read aloud collection and see how much my girls remember.
