On my generation LML Duramax the stock nipple has a 24mm hex head aka 15/16 in freedom units, the older Duramaxs with need a nipple extractor. The new filter adapter was installed with a ratchet square drive; don't over torque it. I used a Donaldson P551807 filter instead of the CAT to save a few pesos with the same level of protection. Add 11 quarts instead of the usual 10 and prefill the oil filter with about a pint to just saturate the large filter media to help with the initial dry start. You can't prefill the oil filter because it is mounted horizontally. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nothing it is the deal. you will love it. *by R***M on Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2020* I love my truck . I drove a semi over 30 years . The up grade is awesome. I rebuild engines the filter is the most important part of the life of your engine. Small filters will bypass oil . This oil is not filtered and can scar your crank. I have had to replace many of them due to scars to deep to repair. Use red lock tight when you install it. You cant go wrong with this. I wish i could do this on all my veh.
