This pump fixed my 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis (RO) System
I purchased the Aquatec 6800 Booster Pump Kit for my 50 GPD 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis system, along with an Electric Shutoff Switch (ESO). Before, my feed pressure into the RO system was between 30 and 40 psi, which wasn't enough to push water into the holding tank. I was constantly running out of water, and it was really frustrating. I tried everything: changing filters, replacing the membrane, and even getting a new backflow valve. But it became clear that the pressure was just too low for the system to run properly. Adding this pump was super easy with the provided instructions. Now, my pressure gauge shows about 60 psi, and I haven’t run out of water since. The water pressure coming out of the spigot is also much higher, making it quick to fill up a pitcher. The Electric Shutoff Switch is a great addition too. It lets the system "rest" between cycles and stops it from continuously wasting water like before. The pump is very quiet, and with the sink cupboard doors shut, I can't hear it at all when it comes on. This has been the perfect fix for my RO system, and my whole family loves the fresh, clean water.

Gets the job done!
Nice pump, feels sturdy and well made. Easy to install, quiet, very little vibration with the rubber feet. One nice feature not mentioned in the listing is that the actual pump output pressure is adjustable. (The listing mentions that the pressure switch is adjustable, which is nice, but the pump output is also adjustable). To adjust, you simply turn the 1/16" Allen screw on the top of the pump--right to increase the pressure, left to decrease. I have a pressure gauge right after the pump so I can adjust the pressure going into the RO system--my system is best around 60 - 70 PSI. (See pics)

Quality RO pump, but vibrations travel
This pump is way overbuilt for the application - increasing the incoming pressure to my iSpring 5-stage RO filter. It is built like a tank and I'm sure will perform nicely for many years. It increases the pressure to my filter from the marginal 40 psi coming from my well to a more appropriate 80 psi. This reduces the time required to refill the storage container when water is used and also increases the efficiency of the filter (less waste water per gallon of filtered water). The pressure switch accurately turns off the pump when the storage tank is refilled to a pressure of 40 psi. You read that right. While the incoming pressure is bumped up to about 80 psi, it shuts off when the storage tank reaches 40 psi. This is correct behavior. I have the pump firmly anchored to the wall in a kitchen cabinet. While the pump is fairly quiet while it is running (a mild humming sound), it does generate some healthy vibrations within the cabinet wall that seems to travel quite a distance through my home. This is true even though the attachment holes in the pump frame have large rubber bushings to provide vibration dampening. I can tell when the pump is running a few rooms away because of the low frequency droning. It's not terribly loud, but if you are sensitive to these types of noises, it can be irritating. The pump pressure and the shut-off switch pressure can both be adjusted, however, it's not recommended since the preset values were correct right out of the box. A great addition to a filtration system if you have incoming pressure below roughly 45 psi.

Directions that come with product are incorrect!
The product is fine, once installed with proper directions. The directions that accompany this product instruct the pressure switch to be installed in the wrong place, causing terrible, unliveable noise. The manufacture sent me the proper directions and once followed the noise disappeared. The install cost me twice as I had to have them come back, undo what had been done, and reinstall. The product was affordable in itself, but the install negated any product savings.

If you have a well, you will most likely need this for your Reverse Osmosis System
Our well pump puts out between 30-40 lbs of pressure on the intake side, down to about 20 lbs before it hit the Reverse Osmosis filter, which isn't quite enough to keep the Reverse Osmosis System running well. This pump works great so far on keeping our system pressurized to about 60 lbs at the Reverse Osmosis Filter. It's not extremely loud, but it's not exactly quiet either. Mounting it to a solid surface keeps the vibration down though and decreases the noise. There are several videos that show how to mount these pumps, the important part is there is a pressure sensor that plugs into this pump with a wiring connection. This pressure sensor needs to be plumbed on the water line feeding the actual Reverse Osmosis filter itself, AFTER the other filters. This pump is plumbed right BEFORE your first filter (usually the sediment filter) and pressurizes the whole Reverse Osmosis System. If you have 50 lbs of pressure or more in your water system, this is probably unnecessary. If you don't, I suggest getting this, its great for what it does.

Make sure you hook this up as instructed.
Our RO system hadn’t worked well since the delivery people hooked it up to our new refrigerator. They attached the line from the new refrigerator to the old one and it is much longer than it needs to be and with the added length the system couldn’t push the water through fast enough. They did do a good job of leveling it. It fits so snugly into the cabinets that I didn’t want to pull it out to shorten the line. After watching some you tube videos this looked like a good solution. Although when I received it the instructions were different than some of the videos. One guy added a second tank before it worked right which is not necessary if you install it as instructed. At first I thought it made the situation worse, but the next day water was flowing well. Even better than before I got my new refrigerator. At some point I will pull out the refrigerator and shorten the line. That will make it flow really well. I have the pump mounted on the block wall in the basement right under the refrigerator. We can’t even hear it run. Very happy. It’s been about a month. As long as it keeps working, we are very satisfied.
