NUTS U.S. - Sunflower Kernels | Raw | A Rich Source of Protein | USA Grown and Packed in Resealable Bags!!! (4 LBS)

I recently opened the 4-lb bag of sunflower kernels to use them only to discover that it comes with the bonus of hull pieces throughout. Unfortunately, Amazon won't entertain my complaint, since I bought the product in May, but I won't make this purchase mistake again! (Word to the Wise: Open your food products immediately, if you want any help from Amazon!)

Just to forewarn other buyers. The aftertaste these have is quite unpleasant. If you mix them with other things they are passable, but by themselves no way. Supposedly these are "sourced" in the US, but I wonder. It cane in this odd generic packaging. Anyway, I would not purchase these again.

These taste incredibly old. They do need to be roasted if that is how you prefer yours. However, even after roasting they taste old and leave the most bitter taste in your mouth for a very long time. I definitely will not be buying these again.

The first thing we noticed was a slight rancid smell, which followed a bitter tasting product. We ended up giving these to the chipmunks and squirrels

Bag was busted. Non returnable. With all the tampering going on in the world of food service, I guess I'll have to throw it away. I don't want to risk my family's health. Disappointed as this was a somewhat pricey item.

I soak and dehydrate the seeds and add sea salt. THey come out perfect it takes a bit more effort, but I know what and how the seeds are processed

Tasted fresh. No salt, thank goodness. I will seal up one pound and freeze for future use. Keep the rest out for snacking, salads and baking. I love these in homemade seed bread, along with flax, pepita and toasted sesame seed. Good stuff!

This was a great price for a large quantity of sunflower seeds. They arrived fresh and have a great flavor. I use these for making homemade sunbutter and for adding into trail mixes or as salad topping. Very pleased with these and will definitely order them again once I'm through this batch.
