It says you can only put water into the kettle** A: There is a little pot you can see in the picture that sits in the kettle at the top where you put things in it. Hopefully this helps **Q: Is the warmer cup & tea diffuser bpa free too?** A: The tea diffuser is metal and the cup is glass. However my kettle has a bad lid and does not hold the cups in place they keep faling off. You also need to know that the lid of the kettle has plastic in it unfortunately. Not sure if its BPA free. Very disappointing and yet again need to replace a second broken kettle within 3 days.
