The shoes seems to be made well, very hard front but I think it’s a good thing as things can fall on ypur child’s feet and they won’t get hurt kicking a ball or something. It says it is girls shoes, bit they are unisex.

This pair was bought to replace the one we bought in September 2019 for the new school year. My son found it perfectly comfortable and they seemed sturdy. I’ve given it four stars because though it looked perfectly alright and there were no tears or cuts to the upper, the right sole developed two cuts that we discovered after he was coming back from school with a sopping wet right foot. Surprising, since that’s just four months of wear. Never had that problem before with hush puppies, so I will be keeping an eye out on this new pair and will update in time. The fit is comfortable and it’s easy enough to polish.

You pay for the name, and the fantastic quality, they grow out of them before they wear them out, come with different soles for different width feet, gets the extra milleage out of them, always perfectly wrapped, good sturdy comfy shoes for school, easy Velcro to help young ones get their own shoes on and off, I've never had a bad pair of hush puppies, they r our favourite brand, girls shoes included, well made, very pleased

These shoes are excellent. My son has wide fitting feet and one foot slightly larger than the other. I've normally always taken my son to Clark's for measuring etc and most years have ended up buying two sets of insoles so as to enable the perfect fit.This year I was unable to find any in his size within the timeframe I had but happened upon these whilst searching Amazon. These shoes came with 3 sets of specifically designed inserts allowing for full sizing customisation at home - obviously the approximate size needs to be known but that's simple enough to work out with a measuring tape and two minutes worth of Googling.Absolutely brilliant idea, quality and price!

Sadly my 7 year old is very heavy on shoes, whatever brand we have of school shoes tend to last him between 8-10 weeks. I was sick of paying £40 a pair for the well known school shoe brands, so thought we'd try out these Hush Puppies instead. Luckily I got them on offer for just over £20. They looked sturdy when they arrived but very heavy. On the plus side the removable varying width insoles provided are a great idea, however I did find that over time these kept slipping in his shoes. On removing these insoles to adjust them I discovered that in both shoes in the ball of the foot the sole inside the shoe under the insole was very damp and black and mouldy and crumbling away. Yes my son does walk to and from school, which is a mile each way, but if it is heavy rainy he wears wellies. Therefore the wet inside is either sweaty feet and poor air flow or it is playing outside in the yard in school when it's damp, whichever way I was shocked at the state of the shoe and would not expect that to happen. My son found the shoes very heavy and stiff and awkward to wear initially, it took him at least two weeks to break them in and during that time he tripped and fell twice in the yard and managed to rip two pairs of trousers. By week nine of wearing them to school for four days a week, my son had walked a hole in the heel on both soles and the bobbled area around the toe on the one shoe had split plus inside the heel on one shoe had worn thin. Yes my son is very heavy on shoes but these are no better and for many of the other reasons they are worse than the alternatives on the market. I wouldn't recommend unfortunately.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well made and sturdy these shoes are , especially for the price. These shoes feel heavy to hold which I good to teach children to pick their feet up while walking. They have generous amounts of padding around the ankle and soles , they also come with two spare insoles to get the perfect fit for your little ones feet. The grip on the soles are fabulous for energetic young boys who love running around at school breaks . These shoes seem indestructible and we will see with time if I am correct.Very happy with my purchase and so is my son as he tells me they’re very comfortable.

Shoes are really sturdy and seem very well made, the 3 different thickness of insoles included are great, my grandson needed the thickest ones and therefore as he grows he can change to the next thickness of insole, which means the shoes should last him longer. He tells me they are really comfy and the grips are good so hopefully will be safe for the icy days ahead. I would recommend them.

Bought for September school start.My son complained they hurt his feet.They were quite heavy and rigid,perhaps that’s why.Only had them a month,it looked like he had been wearing them for months and months,creased leather,fraying stitched.The leather at the strap was wearing away .The water soaked straight through sole freezing my son’s feet.Definitely not built to last!
