More American history from the French point of view. When Lucky Luke is around you know the bad guys will get taken care of and they guys in the white hats will be OK.

Lucky Luke is a cowboy that is called in to solve problems. Best as I can tell many of the Lucky Luke series are based on real history. For example, there really was an Oklahoma Land Rush and although we don't know all of the stories from that time, with Lucky Luke thrown in to make everything run smoothly, this Oklahoma Land Rush was funny and interesting.I have a young 6 year old who is learning to read and who loves cowboys. Lucky Luke has been read over and over again and each time we read it we find more of the visual comedy that the author included in this comic book. I can see where this series would be interesting to a wide range of ages, it is in our home.Enjoy.

Another Lucky Luke story based around historical fact, the seemlingly bizarre idea of a "land rush" where at noon a huge bunch of people would setoff from a border line and "declare" their land. In this story Luke has to preside/police this process, which is a tall order, made more difficult by a parade of the usual bizarre characters you usually find in these books. This book goes way beyond the actual land rush as a group of people establish a town and then promptly leave it when things don't work out.Not my favourite of the genre, one of the early books written with Rene Goscinny, but still a great read.

One of the earlier adventures in the series, but full of good Goscinny gags. My daughter only wanted this because the drawing of Jolly Jumper on the front is so cute, but overall it's worth checking out if you're a Lucky Luke fan.

Actually as a comic character and in terms of illustrations Lucky Luke is good. It good for startup for kid and teenager to take up reading.
