Impressive Quality and Design
Arrived very sharp and oiled. Feels a little heavy for the size but very well made. It looks and feels like a fine Japanese chefs blade, and i'll say again, it is extremely sharp, so respect it's edge. The sheath is well made too, seem like a thick leather. This blade is impressive and amazing looking. Have not cut anything yet aside from the shipping box it came in, but it went in easily and precisely...

Amazing!
I have 3 different Honshu’s and they far exceed my expectations. This thing is thick, heavy and super sharp. It’s also a work of art I almost hate to get it dirty. It should easily cost twice as much if not more. I will be ordering more Honshu items

Non stainless and pleather sheath?
Removed a star because the sheath sucks. I like to carry this inverted, and that isn't happening with the sheath design. Leather seems poor enough that I'm waiting for it to disintegrate or something... have left in the rain just to speed along the process. Blade itself feels sturdy, a little heavy so fatigue could be an issue with extended use, but that is what it is. Quality of the sheath makes me question longevity. Of course not truly stainless steel, magnet test really surprised me.. not even cheap stainless, just electro-coated or something. Damn I miss my crkt parang. Time will tell if it loses a star or not, for the price will definitely not hesitate to abuse it. Edit* just researched 7cr series steel in blade smithing, learned that the carbon content is low enough that the blade is considered unable to hold an edge. Taking it into the mangroves this weekend. Expect blisters from the handle.
