worked like a charm with my android tablet I got this at a reasonable price.
Not the thing for the non-tech-savvy, there are no step by step instructions included to hold your hand. But if you look up model number you will find software to enable you to connect bluetooth GPS to your mobile device. I downloaded "bluetooth GNSS" from the android play store, enabled location spoofing on my Lenovo P11 tablet, and was up in 10 minutes , including a couple of minutes for the initial satellite lock. Installation on my galaxy phone was faster. When I am in an "asphalt canyon" area , the extra precision is much appreciated. My tablet's GPS is useless even among 4 story buildings near downtown bostonIf you are even a little technically inclined and have 15 minutes , you can do this. Very accurate and necessary for using my Lenovo P11 android tablet, because it's gps is sloppy. I cannot raddress long term battery durability (number of cycles it will take a charge), but the battery life per cycle is well over 8 hours, and the battery is user replaceable. I got this for a great price on amazon but scarcity now brings increased expense.

Bluetooth- no pairing
I don't know how effective the GPS functions are because the Bluetooth function does not work at all. I tried multiple devices with no luck in pairing. I turned on a wireless keyboard and my iPad found it immediately. I was also disappointed that the only option for charging is an older style 12v plug-in. The instruction CD had minimal instructions and no trouble shooting help. I will be returning the unit.

Works Great - crappy instructions
Got this to use with a basic 10" tablet I bought last year not realizing it didn't have GPS. Thanks to some of the older responses with instructions I had already read, I was able to get it done rather quickly. Had I been dependent on the instructions or confusing cd, it wouldn't have happened. So a big thanks to those who took the time to write it out. For ANDOID users: to summarize: you MUST get into the developer system and enable mock GPS. Download any free GPS add on software (the one often mentioned in comments no longer available - but any should work), connect it to the gps then turn on whatever GPS based software you want to use. I set this up to work with a marine plotter software called Navionics - ran around for an hour and it was flawless, also worked great with google maps on same unit. SO, 1 - enable mock GPS, 2 - download GPS software, link together, THEN turn on application. Good luck!

Bluetooth GPS for Android Tablet - Still Working
UPDATE 11/09/2021:This GPS unit is still going after 6 years. The battery has swollen up from being in the truck all the time. I have removed the battery. I now have it paired to an ONN 10" Tablet Pro from Walmart. I am using the app BLUETOOTH GPS FOR ANDROID (Google Play). You still have to go into developer options and choose "Allow Mock Location" and choose Bluetooth GPS as the app it is sending the info to.First of all thanks Amazon for getting this shipped to me so quick.I purchased this unit to replace an older GPS receiver of several years of age. I use this with an Android tablet computer in my truck while travelling. The BT-821 shows 10 satellites in view, and accurate to around 10 feet. I have only used it on very short trips at the moment, but I am well pleased with it. The navigation software isn't jittery like it used to be with the older unit I had.You will need to install an app called "GPSInfo" from google play, and your favorite navigation app (mine is CO-Pilot Premium USA)Pair the bluetooth device with 0000 as the pairing code. Set to allow MOCK location from developer settings. This is a great GPS receiver and small enough to fit about anywhere.

ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!
My old faithful GPS/PLOTTER finally died...it had WAAS...26 Sats to lock on...I have been using Navionics on my phone and Android Tablets which works pretty but the GPS receivers in them are not locked on many Satellites and thus are quite flighty while underway on my boat...I bought this WAAS Receiver to try and negate the EXPENSE of buying another expensive Plotter Unit...To my amazement this thing ROCKS! Dead ON position without wandering around..just like my expensive units...I now have 3 Tablets and my Phone "Paired" with this unit and all work Flawlessly! THE PIN TO "PAIR" IS 0000....that was the hardest thing to figure out!! LOLOLO 0000 bingo! BUY ONE!

No Support
I bought this device in hopes of tying it to a Fire tablet for a large screen GPS in the car. There was a video on the web of a guy doing that, and it was great. He downloaded a map, connected the GPS with BlueTooth, and with another app, the GPS data showed on the downloaded map. He had a 10" (or 8") old Fire tablet running Google Maps navigation.I modified the old Fire tablet to work with the Google Play Store apps... very cool! Then, I found that the app used by the GPS video guy is gone! In his reader comments, others have had the same problem. That app has disappeared. I tried several other apps to "read" this GPS device, and none work with it.I talked to a few representatives at GlobalSat, and they don't even know what the device is, even though it is listed among their products.I've had the device too long to return it, so I hope that someone else may develop another app to read the device, and tie it one of the downloadable map programs (such as Google Maps). No doubt, the device is far more accurate than a mobile phone GPS (something like 1.5 feet, Vs 6 feet), and it could run without DATA charges... but without a compatible app - it's useless.
