We have an ipad that fits but easier to just put on lap. We didn't strap it to the seat and didn't use the side pockets as we didn't find them useful and would have been useful to be able to snap them together underneath the tray when not being used.This was used while rear facing and primarily for having a surface to color on. For that, it's great.
