A book to read and reread
It's not hard to recognize the power of words. We all get affected by them just about every day. The challenge is knowing how to handle it.This book helps. It is a book that you would need to read and reread. It also made me realize more fully how wonderful the Bible is as Ms. Davis uses the scriptures to underpin her argument that we fight a spiritual battle when dealing with this power of words.I like her formula (you can read it in the book) as we do often dwell on the negative words and actions of others long after we should have let it go.As most people, I have been impressed by the fact that some people work for the devil as they go around hurting people with their words. I remember thinking that one woman hadn't been asked but had volunteered and was dong a great job for him. And then I observed an African-American woman who in two years had never said a negative word about anyone (at work) and was fearless in quoting a scripture here and there to me when I felt like belting some gossip or other (with a witty retort) . Just smile and go on your way, she'd tell me. I'd struggle to focus on the positive-that much I knew. Because of her and the words she used-her constant choice of strong and positive words which appeared to me a part of her Christian upbringing and philosophy, I got this book and it helps me more to focus on the positive. It's interesting to note that this woman was always well-dressed, constantly attended to her duties at work, married successfully with children who attended a private Christian school-all exemplary-but it was her words that amazed me at first, then impressed me as time went by. And of course she got a lot of mean comments and criticism and she still remained strong.

Perhaps true but full of proof-texting
This book attempts to deal with the problems that result from negative thinking and speech in the life of the believer and how to combat them. The basic premise is that your beliefs, thoughts and speech, in part, create your reality. This is common sense. The author's attempt at putting this in a Biblical framework I thought was lacking. The problem I had with this book is I really need to accept by faith that the author has done her homework and can be trusted. Many of her assertions are not supported by anything and are just stated as fact. The ones she supports are given partial, sometimes sloppily paraphrased "proof texts" that are given no Biblical context to show the verses support her claims.I was able to walk away from reading this with a few nuggets or truth, but it would be too much work for me to look up every verse and try to discern what that verse is saying in its context, and then apply it to the author's assertions. I think that should be, for the most part, the author's job. There are plenty of minor grammatical/editing issues, too, which for me detracts from the message.

Words Are So Powerful
Words are so powerful. It can either help us or it can hurt us. We need to be careful on how we choose our words. There are powers in words that you are speaking. Its have the power of life and death are in your tongue. You will allow to fall in the trap to speak negatively about yourself if you are not mindful. In the book of Proverbs the 18th Chapter and the 21st verse speaks to us “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” When you are speaking negative words into your own life, you are actually speaking death into your life. You are a lethal weapon to the devil, armed & dangerous because life and death are in the power of your tongue. The reason why some of us are speaking death into our own life because of the mindset. We are busy allowing poison corrupts our mind. When toxic takes control of your mind you will always have negative thoughts. Your negative words can cause serious damages to you. It can disrupt your sleep. It can ruin your appetite. It can interrupt your ability to experience happiness and satisfaction with life. Having a negative mindset will put you in a circle of deterioration. So use your tongue wisely and speak life. You need to start speaking life. God wants you to experience that joy of living life. This book is definitely perfect for Christian Books Club and Bible Study. I am looking forward to read more books by Lynn R. Davis

Inspiring
This is a book for Christians. It's inspiring, honest and Spirit filled. I like how Lynn shares her story. When I started reading I wasn't sure if I will learn much since I have been a Christian for over thirty years and read about the power of words a lot. This is a topic however, that I will always want to keep reading about. We all need to.Lynn's analogy of her house's yard condition and her own heart was brilliant. How many times we want to speak well (decrees, affirmations, etc) without considering our heart"s condition? It's like wanting to plant green grass on top of soil that really needs a process of cleaning and prep.IMany books on words declaration missed this part, and if they mentioned, it is not as clear as this picture.Yes, I learned and I enjoy this reading. Great book. Lynn is an anointed writer.

A wonderful wake up call, it's time to let God's love free you!
This book gives the reader insight to discern the difference between an attitude of humility and servitude and being desperately trapped by self doubt, guilt and the work of the enemy.
