It fit in the plug perfectly. **Q: when the internal battery is DEAD and engine is running will it still record hours and show them up on the display ?** A: No. When the internal battery is dead, the display will shut off and not display the hours any more **Q: Is battery replaceable? Will memory be lost if battery replaced?** A: The meter works throught externa power of AC/DC 5-277 Volt and an Internal CR2032 Battery is also included and non-replaceable. The internal CR2032 battery works only when the external power is off and supply the power to the LCD screen only. so it will be very long service lifetime of the internal battery. even if the internal battery is dead, the meter will still work through the external power. the LCD screen will display off with the external power is off and the internal battery is dead. the memory will not lost if internal battery is dead because of ROM **Q: Does it still show hours when the internal battery goes dead it's running on 12 volt ?** A: The life span of the internal battery (CR2050) is around 6 years. Perfect fit in the existing cut-out and already had the existing 2-wires hidden behind panel from Hustler. Plugged both wires with the quick connectors to the two terminals and it instantly started working (only two terminals on back of this meter). The display stays on 100% of time (before it was connected it was already on as shipped to me running off internal battery). When I turn the ignition to "ON" then the small hourglass starts flashing and counting time. This is useful as I already put an hour on the engine, so I could turn ignition to "ON" and leave engine off to help manually increase hours to make it more accurate. Once I turn the ignition back to "OFF" the hourglass icon stops flashing. If I press and hold the small button on bottom right (about 1 second) it goes to "TIMER 1" and another press to "TIMER 2". Eventually it then returns to the main hours. So think of the timer 1 & 2 as a trip meter essentially that you could reset for something like a service interval. Will probably put about 20 hours per season, so if I encounter any issues with functionality or reliability will report back here in the future. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Toro 50" TimeCutter MrRide *by G***6 on 17 January 2019* Bought this hr meter trying to save a few bucks from what Toro wanted for their model. I used a file to ever so softly shave down one edge of the meter hole on the mower and changed out the stock plug with soldered speaker wire connections. The old unit was removed by simply disconnecting the two wires, and pulling up the old meter out. Reverse instructions for reassembly. I had it swapped out in under 10 minutes for an easy install.
