Great Product for High Protein Buildup
This is a 'tried and true' cleaner. I've been forced to wear hybrid lenses (hard in the middle and soft on the outside) for over 20 years. Peroxide cleaning solutions are my only option due to uncomfortable allergic reactions from standard cleaners. Before the introduction of Clear Care (my 'go to' cleaning solution,) Ultrazyme, Opti-Clean II & AOSept was the only comfortable combination allowing me to wear lenses longer than 14 hours and control protein build up. Clear Care does a really good job as a one step solution.Over the years, this product became increasingly difficult to find at retail stores. I rediscovered it (and Opti-Clean II) while looking for a way to prolong lens life expectancy. When I noticed them on Amazon, I was stunned and quickly made my purchase! If you're using AOSept or ClearCare, just put the Ultrazyme tablet in the disinfecting vile once a week or as needed when the lenses become uncomfortable due to protein build up. Once a month is all I need, but it varies greatly by person. If you have very sensitive eyes, be sure to do a quick rinse with an aerosol or pure saline solution before you insert the lenses. From a comfort standpoint, I found that this step is not always needed, but I do it to be safe. That should be all you need. However, if you have really stubborn build up, get the Opti-Clean II. Using this before Ultrazyme will make the cleaning more effective. The only down side with Opti-Clean II is the need to rub the lens gently with the cleaner in your hand. Too much force may tear the lens, so be gentle.Ultrazyme does cause the cleaning solution to foam up a little, so be sure not to overtighten the cap. The veritcle vent on the side vile should be slightly open. It complete dissolves and you should be ready to wear your lenses in 6 hours. I didn't notice a huge difference in acuity or comfort, but if it helps the lenses last longer, I'll keep using it.I'll post back when it's time for new lenses to see if it made a difference.

Saves Hard Contacts
I have to use permanent hard contacts, so you can imagine that I need something more than the usual peroxide to clean them with. I use these tablets once a week (have used this particular product for 2 years) and they are the only thing that keeps my contacts from constantly fogging up all day. Other things can cause fog, but protein build up is the big one.I guess some folk don't realize you need a solution to add these tablets to. If you don't already use a peroxide solution you can get one that comes with a container that you can add the tablet to (usually around $10 from any store that carries contact cleaner).

Best protein remover you can buy
This product is great at removing build-up on my soft contacts and making them more comfortable to wear. I have bad allergies in the summer/fall months and my contacts are often uncomfortable to wear, but this product makes them feel like new (I have contacts I replace every month). I have tried the newer protein removers on the market, but I hate the drops because they are slimy and it takes a LOT of saline to wash the drops off. These tablets work great. I use it once a week and drop a tablet in with the peroxide cleaning kit I use, and when it is done the contacts are ready to put in. No rubbing or rinsing like you have with the newer drops. I highly recommend this product.

Like my new cleaning regimen!
I'm a person who hates change and was devastated when Alcon stopped making AOSept. My contact lens regimen for decades had been AOSept, Miraflow (or Lobob or Walgreens brand), SupraClens and Wegmans Saline Solution. When they stopped making AOSept, I bought it on ebay, even with expired dates. Now I can't even get it there, so I was forced to investigate new products. After reading some reviews, I decided on Oxysept and Ultrazyme. It's a similar process to the AOSept and SupraClens -- a disinfecting solution along with a protein cleaner. Ultrazyme is only used once a week, though, whereas I used SupraClens drops with each cleaning. Also, the Oxysept basket is different than AOSept. The neutralizing happens with a tablet that you add to the Oxysept, whereas with AOSept you used a basket with a built-in neutralizing disk.I have to say, my contacts feel better now that I've switched! From what I can tell, it's because the tablet neutralizes the disinfecting solution more slowly than the disk, so the cleaning action goes on for a much longer time. It's true that the AOSept used to bubble up quickly and spill out of the basket. Oxysept also has some sort of comfort component, a lubricating agent of some sort. Usually, that only makes my vision cloudy, but in this product it really works. I can wear my contacts comfortably for hours. I have dry eye, so that's saying a lot.The process is pretty fussy, and nothing that some people will want to bother with. After each wear, you rub the contacts with Lobob and rinse with saline. Then you fill the Oxysept basket with solution and drop in the neutralizing tablet. What I don't like about the system is those blasted blister packs. Both the neutralizing tablet and the Ultrazyme tablet have to be removed from blister packs. Also, I liked using a protein remover every day -- I added two drops of SupraClens to the AOSept basket every time. Ultrazyme is a once-a-week tablet. I imagine I'll use it more often to prevent protein buildup, but if I do, it'll be more expensive than the SupraClens drops. (Does anyone know whether you can use SupraClens with Oxysept?) I like to keep my contacts for a couple of years, though, so I need to clean them with the most rigorous process available. Multipurpose and no-rub solutions just don't work for my purposes. So, even though it's more of a hassle, I'll go with the Oxysept and Ultrazyme combo.

What did I do before YOU???
After years of chronic protein deposits on my contact lenses and having to use baking soda to literally "scrub" my delicate contact lenses, daily!! I lucked out and found this product, what a Godsend. I use this product daily, I never have to "scrub" or risk tearing my delicate contact lenses, I feel the price is reasonable and I know that I can rely on this product to remove all protein deposits, I highly recommend this product.
