Until You (The Westmoreland Dynasty Saga Book 3)

Wonderful follow up to Whitney My Love
Could not put it down! Finished in 2 days. I only wish that their courtship had been fleshed out more. I felt that it ended rather abruptly. Either that, or I just selfishly never wanted the story to end.

Quick read, but still good
The thing I liked was true to Judith McNaught very consistent style. The characters are riveting. The thing I don’t like about this particular book is how fast she whipped through it… I don’t feel like I got time to really absorb. It was over with so quickly

interesting
This was a very interesting story. I enjoyed the continuation of the Westmoreland family life. The only issue that I had is one that I tend to have issues with in a number of romance novels. The fact that rather than have a conversation the couple will just decide to end the relationship based on misunderstanding or trust. I find that to be annoying. Otherwise the story was different and very good

Oh, the unmitigated joy!
In order to explain my joy at finding this book, I describe my adoration of another author. Having been a fan of Georgette Heyer for about 50 years, I had despaired of ever finding an author whose work would engage and enthrall me as did hers. But, to my delight, I have discovered Judith McNaught. She has given me the entrancing storyline, the finely drawn and deeply engaging characters, the delightful conversation, and the laughter I so love in Heyer's work. I have become a faithful fan, and must now rush off to buy another of her wondrous books. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning!

Good, final book
It was a good final book to complete the series. I know there is a novella, but I hate them so I won't read it.I probably won't read this book again, but I would read the 1st and 2nd book of this series.

This was quite good!
I was very happy this was not nearly as long and arduous as the previous novel. I loved Sheridan a lot and I thought Stephen was mostly fine. I do want to read Nikki’s novella as well, since he truly is my favorite of the MMCs in this series.

Starts slow, but the last 200 pages make it worthwhile
Until You is the story of Stephen Westmoreland, first introduced in Whitney, My Love. I highly recommend reading Whitney... before Until You. Clayton (Duke of Claymore) and his wife Whitney are major characters in this book, and it will be much more enjoyable if you've read their story first.Due to an unfortunate accident, Stephen Westmoreland feels responsible for the death of a young bridegroom. When he hears that the bride is arriving soon on a ship from America, Stephen goes to the dock to intercept her and break the news to her. When he gets there, a beautiful red-haired woman is waiting for him. After he tells her the news, she is struck by a cargo net and falls unconscious. He takes her to his home, and when she wakes up she has amnesia. What she doesn't know is that her name is Sheridan, and she is not the intended bride. Instead, she was the bride's paid companion and was dreading having to meet with the bridegroom to tell him that his bride eloped with a sailor.Obviously, this leads to confusion for all parties. Stephen assumes she is the fiancee, and Sheridan is so confused that she accepts this identity. To make matters worse, the doctor advises Stephen to pretend to be her intended so she will feel secure in a stranger's home. It's not hard to imagine what happens. As Stephen pretends to be her fiancee, he finds himself falling in love with her. Sheridan likewise cannot resist her handsome, charming fiancee. The only thing that seems to be missing from her life is the memories of her past. The events described take up almost half of the book. In fact, it took a full 100 pages just to reach the point described on the book's back cover. This created a very slow beginning. Knowing about the mistaken identity, I was ready to get into the story. However, there were endless tales of Sheridan's childhood that, while entertaining, did not add much to the overall story's plot. After trudging through the first 200 pages, suddenly the action picks up when, while she is preparing for her wedding to Stephen, the "real" fiancee shows up and accuses Sheridan of being a fraud. Suddenly, Sheridan's memories return, and she realizes an earl will not want to marry a paid servant. Moreover, she realizes Stephen has lied all along about being her fiancee, and she feels duped by the entire Westmoreland family. Sheridan immediately leaves Stephen at the altar. While Sheridan feels betrayed and hurt, and Stephen's feelings for Sheridan turn to hate, his mother, sister-in-law, and a forgetful friend come together to help the lovers see the truth and make the match of the Season!

Governing the heart of her lord
I was not sure what I was plunging into when I read the reviews of this novel in Amazon.com. I took the chance and I fully enjoyed it.Sheridan Bromleigh is a red-headed free-spirit American who had to accompany Charise Lancaster who was betrothed to a baron in England. Upon arrival, to Sheridan horrid, Charise Lancaster had eloped with her new lover back to US and leaving her in preparing to face the baron's demand.Stephen Westmoreland vowed that he will never lose his heart to any lady after his friendship with Emily Kapthon left him untrusting except for his very frequent escapade with his mistress. One accidental night running over the Baron, left him the consequence to receive the baron's fiancee. At the port when he met the red-headed lady, telling him that her fiance had met an accident which caused his death, she was stunned. Rather than stun by the news, she was stunned by a strong blow on the back of her head and next moment, she was lying on a bed, not knowing who she was, losing all her memories. All she was told of is that her name is Charise Lancaster.Stephen had to play as her fiance while helping her to regain her memory. As the time flies for nearly four years, he realized his desire for his lady has been too much that he may really be her fiance. The day before the wedding, the real Charise turned up to claim what was rightly hers and gave the memory which was rightly Sheridan's. Aghast by the turn of events, Sheridan chose to leave Claymore soulless. Stephen waited for his love to return but in vain. The twist to the story was even more interesting with characters from Whiney, My Love - Whitney and Clayton, Nicholas Du Ville, Dowager Duchess of Claymore, Hugh Whitthard and Charity Thorton. I like it in such a way that in the end; the free-spirit won the heart of her lord and governed it with love. Stephen would not learn to love Until You.
