Useful tool but the wedge split the handle.
I like the tool but the wedge they show at the top is only partially entered into the handle but the way they put it in caused a split f or the corner of the handle. and so we pulled it out and re-entered it oriented the proper way, but it still split because of the original split.I wrapped the head and handle tightly with black electricians tape to keep it from cracking any further down the handle and go from there. I don't know if there are replacement handles readily available or not, but I shouldn't have to replace a handle upon purchase. I can use it until the handle splits out entirely, Hopefully with the support of the tape it'll keep working for the rest of my life since I'm over 60 it may happen ;-)I am not sure what sort of stainless steel rusts, but I did soak the thing in an attempt to tighten the head with swelling the wood and do away with the need for the wedge.. and it worked until the wood dried out again. But I noticed that the metal rusted in spots! I was amazed since it is supposedly stainless which doesn't rust!I've used the tool for weeding out half whisky barrels I've filled with soil and planted to strawberries, and I've used it to chop the weeds away from the trunks of trees.. very carefully.. to recreate the ring of no vegetation around the base of trees. I need to do more but that was a start. Now that the ring is started I can go out with the shovel and enlarge it.If the handle had not split I'd have definitely given at least one more star. I've not had the issues some other reviewers have had, The welds were good and have held, but then I've not abused it. It's not intended for chopping through rock hard soil, or rocks themselves. If your soil is very rocky so you're likely going to hit large rocks over and over, I'd suggest getting an actual pick or a full sized pick mattock since these are basically hand mattocks. And if your ground is rock hard, water it first and let it soak in over night before trying to work it with this tool. I'm going to go out there and use It some more to open planting holes for the strawberries I need to plant. Granted I don't need a tool this heavy, but it's easier to hold and work with than a trowel for me.

All that was needed was red and blue colors to give it a Fischer-Price look!
I will use it — sparingly — for fear of breaking the "toy" pick. Arizona soil is extremely hard. The pick I am replacing is 10 years old, and is much stronger. We'll see how long this one lasts.

I think we spent more time on this useless hoe than on the garden plantings
First time I used this hoe, it fell apart. We were preparing some soil around the lawn to plant a border. Within 10 minutes of work it fell apart. We hammered it back together, and had to continue to put it back together every few minutes. I think we spent more time on this useless hoe than on the garden plantings.I have owned other Japanese hoes, they do NOT all fall apart. What good is a hoe can not be used as one?

Useful tool
This was perfect for building my flowers garden. Perfect length for being in a kneeling position. It could be a bit sturdier, but it worked out fine for me.

Excellent ginseng hoe
Hoe appears more sturdy than it really is. The metal is thin but very sharp. Handle was a lot thinner than I would have liked. I wanted it for planting flowers, I’m not sure it will work for me.

Nothing , just buy it and use it!
Never has rusted and the handle stays on tight to the head. Nice for a variety of digging.

Poor quality
Really poor quality, unless you are digging in very soft solid or sand.
