Reliable quality DVD from Grapevine Video
Unlike DVDs from some other suppliers, Grapevine Video's versions of MANTRAP and HULA are of reliable quality -- no freezing, no jumping ahead -- and display Clara Bow to fine advantage.

Well restored and a timeless storyline
True vintage photography captured well. Restored in 2015, "Mantrap" has a clear picture for its year. The music score by David Knudtson fit the entire feature. Not my style of music to be honest, but it's easy to substitute your music of desire."Mantrap" was not my favorite Clara Bow flick, but I understand why she was the number one box office draw for a few years in the 1920s. The men in this movie were lame to me, but Bow kept me watching till the end, a cool 73 mins. The storyline with modern updates would still work today, If you're not expecting high-definition and enjoy ancient black and white movie tinge, check out "Mantrap." Bow rocks the fashion of her time, and she gifted the moving pictures eye for more than a decade. The still pictures of Clara Bow are actual shots from this DVD. No special features, just; play and scene selection.

Clara Shines
I am a longtime Claw Bow fan.... she shines in anything she is in, even if those around her and the material seem dated.

Poor image quality
Rating is for the Grapevine bluray, not the movie. My Amazon reviews are about a particular product, not movie reviews (IMDB is the place for movie reviews). While this is burned on a bluray (and it is burned, not pressed), the image quality is about that of a decent VHS tape. There is no reason for this to be a bluray, a DVD would have been more than adequate.

~ "MANTRAP" makes a hasty Blu-ray debut, it's not that good ~
Well, first of all, I am a Clara Bow fan. I have the other 2 well done Blu-rays of her movies on this format and when I had heard or saw this movie coming out in Blu-ray, I honestly didn't know what to expect. The movie is classic Clara Bow, but this was not done properly. It is a BURNED Blu-ray copy. NOT AT ALL pressed like a good DVD or Blu-ray should be. I had no problems playing it back in the Sony 4K player, but the image quality was no better in the 2160p range. It looked like a DVD copy.It is NOT restored by any means whatsoever, but the company putting this out says it is not restored to begin with.I just really wish Paramount or someone like that of Criterion would come along and get this and many of her other movies properly restored and released in HD for all of us fans of the late actress. The "CHILDREN OF DIVORCE" Blu-ray IS the way "IT" SHOULD BE FOR ALL OF HER MOVIES, period.I would be willing to pay for them and I know many others that love her and her movies would also.NO SPECIAL FEATURES AT ALL.
