Still sucks up a little but much less than trying to use the siphon to disrupt the top layer of sand. It does suck up water quickly, especially in a smaller tank, but physics and all. When I purchased this siphon it was just under $10, which seems like a good price. If you don't, it will drain and filter a bit. To get a stronger suction for filtering, you have to keep squeezing the bulb. **Q: Can you use this in reverse to fill the tank with water?** A: You can not hook it up to a faucet, but you could from a bucket. But the bucket has to be higher then the tank. It still works on gravity **Q: How can I request a replacement. Small one way plastic valve had fallen out of position on first use. This siphon is still going strong at this time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good but sometimes the flap inside gets stuck *by C***R on March 20, 2023* I use this product to clean my 5 gallon fish tank and it works great, I clean my tank at least once every week and I use this every single time. Its great for cleaning out the rocks and around my plants and stuff.
