Why They Give You That One Extra Pin
Our 20 year old Frigidaire washer needed fixing; cracked spider arm, worn out drum bearings and tired suspension springs caused both shock absorbers to break. It couldn't spin with a normal sized load of laundry, and the drum began banging against the inside of the metal cabinet, thump thump thump.I ordered these and the other parts, and installed the shocks first to help the machine limp along until I could take it out of service for a couple of days and fix it all. There's no indication on the package that these were produced by a Frigidaire/Kenmore/Electrolux supplier, just a small label on a plastic bag with no instructions. (Plenty of youTube repair videos out there though.) But they fit well, work as expected, were affordably priced and arrived quickly. Made a definite improvement in the stability of the bouncing drum, helped it to spin a bit better, and no more thumping sounds. And now I know why they give you just the one extra plastic split pin! If you do the repair with the washer in place, going in through the front of the machine's lower access panel (without removing the back panel), you will discover that the bottom pin on the right side shock absorber cannot be removed completely, because it backs up against the washer control box (which would require access from the back of the machine to remove). So you end up having to slice 1/2" off the front end of that pin with side cutters or a sharp utility knife, then push the shortened pin out enough to grab the back of it with pliers and remove. When you install the replacement pin, simply insert it 'backwards', and push it in from the front of the machine. These pins are made from a durable plastic, so the other 3 are re-useable. (It helps to add a light smear of plumber's grease to the pins before re-installing, and tap them in/out with a footlong chunk of 2x2 lumber and a small hammer...) WEAR MECHANIC'S GLOVES, there are sharp metal corners inside the machine.PS: I have no idea why they included those 4 extra hex nuts in the pkg.

Perfect fit in Sears Model 970C4004200 Washer
My washer was occasionally making some alarming thumping and bumping noises. I removed the front panel and could see one of the shocks was broken. The new shocks look different but fit perfectly and so far, after about 15 loads, seem to have solved the problem.Took me about 2 hours total to replace the shocks, working only through the removed front panel. Apparently the job is a bit easier if one pulls the machine out and also removes the back panel (something I choose not to do). I used a small hammer to tap the plastic pins back in. Toughest part of the job is that you've got to work on the floor and will probably want a work light in there to see what you are doing. The kit came with a single spare plastic pin (in case you break one) and a set of 4 3/8 inch bolts to add to the feet as lock nuts (which I didn't need as my machine already had lock nuts). Also has a sheet of printed instructions which were useful and accurate. The enclosing bag said Electrolux on it and the instructions said the part was for a Frigidaire machine.I have a Sears Washer Model 970C4004200 manufactured in 2000.

Well Made and Affordable!
I seem to need to replace the shocks on my washer frequently. My two sons do their own laundry, and sometimes they overload the washer. This causes them to wear out prematurely.I had been buying replacement shocks from our local appliance store, however, they seemed to be cheaply made. I decided to try these, since they seemed to be of better quality, and are factory replacement parts. They shipped fast, and were packaged great. They were clearly better made than the ones I had used previously. There was, however, only 1 pin to hold the shocks in place. (That is why I gave it four stars.) You need a total of 4. I managed to reuse the pins I had, and kept the new pin for a backup. The holes in the shocks seemed slightly smaller than the previous holes, so I did need to modify my old pins. The new pin fit fine since the slit in the side was wider than the ones in my old pins.Since I am familiar with how to do this, it took less than 15 minutes (without modifications to the pins). There are some tight spots that you must get into, so if you can pull you washer out and have direct access to the bottom, it would be easier on you.

Initial review
Our Fridgedaire Laundry Center washing machine was banging like a gong, sounding like it was going to self destruct. This is a stacked washer dryer. If one goes out, you lose both the washer and the dryer. I removed the rear cover of the washer and the damage was easily spotted. Two broken shock absorbers. These replacement parts were a perfect fit and an easy repair. Removing the lock pins was kind of a challenge but they came out with some coaxing and squeezing the detent on the far (front) side. Make sure you save the old pins or order new ones as the kit only comes with one spare. Replacing the pins was also a bit of a challenge. I used a rubber mallet and drift punch to to slowly drive the harder ones through the brackets. The actual repair of removing and replacing these only took 15 minutes. Putting the dryer vent and back cover back on the machine took most of the time. Someone mentioned in another review that they couldn't get to one pin due to an electronic box being in the way. On mine, that box was held on by two screws and easily removable. Make sure your power is disconnected before working! All of the removable screws on my machine were "square" drive screws.Hope this helps!

Good item, can be a pain to install.
Good quality item, even comes with a spare, (pivot piece?).The pivots are a royal pain to remove and install, conceptually easy but tight fit and limited workspace make for a fun couple of hours.

Easy install, worked okay, heavy loads was wobbling though, keeping an eye on it.

so all is nice and tight
Magnificent! My washer is actually an older Kenmore, but the parts fit perfectly. They look different than the originals but fit and work properly. No noise in spite of what others had to say; perhaps their washers needed new springs, too - I changed a broken spring at the same time, so all is nice and tight. My only advice is WEAR GLOVES! Otherwise you WILL get scraped and cut installing these things. I'll also mention that these were almost half the price of anywhere else I shopped online and locally. They also arrived within a week instead of the possible 3 weeks. Great part, great service, great price, great timing.

Work great as a replacement
They take 20 minutes to install and seem to work well. In my case the problem was with the spider arm, so I had to throw out the washer anyway, but this is a good replacement product, and most of the shocks in those machines are useless after ~10 years, so worth replacing.
