I purchased these machine tuners for my Squire Telecaster. The guitar was recently purchased new off the Fender website. The Squire Debut model - $150 price as of 11.10.25 purchased as a mod platform. Right out of the box the "G" string tuner was not working well - slipping and inconsistent string adjustment. Fender customer service was very friendly and helpful - said they will replace the guitar and I can send the guitar I have back or go to a local "approved by Fender" repair shops. The repair was about 45 minutes away - which is fine - however upgrading the machine tuners for a more precise tune was on my list of upgrades. Searched around and found these Gotoh Schaller-style Knob Chrome Tuners (6-in-a-line) tuners with high customer ratings. If you are doing an upgrade on your guitar you will likely have a good experience with these machine tuners. They aren't locking type but that doesn't matter if you wrap the strings onto the posts properly The only slightly negative thing I can say - and this is not any fault of the tuners - is that they're a bit crowded when mounted on a Fender-style peg head.
