It was diagnosed early - likely a crucial point - but the prognosis was heart failure and death within 3 to 12 months. He lived four years. He was prescribed medication after diagnosis, but after a year in which his condition worsened, but with congestive heart failure symptoms absent, I added this after consulting with our veterinary heart specialist.Did this extend his life? I don't know. But his three subsequent visits to that vet saw no further decline. The heart condition did not contribute to his death at 18, nor had it progressed after I began this supplement.This is just one story. Not a guarantee. I would consult with a vet before proceeding, but my vet suggested this had shown promise in dogs with this same disease and in my cat's case there was no harm in trying it.My research indicated this was the highest quality product of its kind. It is pricey. But I concluded after researching that the less expensive products were likely not as good. This was a bargain if indeed this contributed to the additional years of life for my cat.Particularly because of the expense, it's important to note that the product should not be exposed to cold. This was not the case when I received my third bottle, which I ordered in advance of needing it. When I opened it, more than a month had passed. Instead of a liquid, the product was similar to yogurt and could not be drawn into the dropper. And because it was more than a month after ordering, Amazon would not accept the return.I spoke with a representative of the manufacturer, who assured me the product was still usable. The consistency was because it had been delivered during cold (30 degree) weather and sat outside for hours. The product is supposed to be exposed to temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F. 15 - 30 C. The company was most accommodating on this, even if Amazon was not, and sent me a replacement.So, check your purchase if you don't immediately plan to use it - shaking the bottle will do - so you can return the product to Amazon if it has coagulated. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Working for my dog so far *by V***C on September 2, 2013* After reading the review of a prior user I ordered this product for my 7yr old 20lb dog with early stage renal failure. That was almost 2yrs ago. My dog is now 9yrs old and lab values have remained steady (almost normal) since. I am also using Kan Essentials "Rheumania 8" and Standard Process "Canine Renal Support". She is doing extremely well and her Vet is very surprised. We check her labs every 6 months. I cannot say positively that it the supplements but they are working for my dog (so far). I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 due to pricing of the product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Product *by S***R on May 26, 2015* Taking too many pills each day its hard for me and i struggle to be consistent with them, so I am starting to take a lot more in liquid form and I find that I take supplements more consistently that way. This does not taste great (this is my second order), so i always have a quick chaser ready which is another supplement that actually taste fantastic. But i love that it's liquid. Are there other liquid forms out there that taste better, sure there are, but this is top quality with no fillers, colors, artificial flavors etc and you need very little. 1ml supplies the same as two tablespoons (30ml) of a flavored version I also have at home.Ubiquinol is the form you want, which is what this is, and this is what is readily available for use by your body and this is what your body uses; the other form, ubiquinone does not absorb well and your body needs to convert what gets absorbed-this is why some manufacturer add other products in there to help it absorb.Beyond its anti aging aspect and providing more energy (Ubiquinol declines as you age), I am using this to improve our fertility - specifically the mitochondrial function (energy "house") of the egg. This is also why i am splurging for the stuff that is top notch. It's also important for sperm quality so my husband takes it as well, but just for interest, the egg carries most of the burden supplying the energy for division once it's fertilized so it's a very important aspect in terms of achieving pregnancy. I am not going to repeat all the science here, but there is tons out there if you want to research both fertility and non-fertility related such as the renal failure other reviewers mentioned, chronic fatigue syndrome, anti aging etc.A good book if anyone is interested in the fertility topic is a book called "its starts with the egg."
